Michelin's Bai Lu Chi Tire US plant will lay off nearly 100 people

According to reports, Michelin North America recently announced that it will cut nearly one hundred Tuscaloosa in Alabama to respond to the decline in market demand.

Michelin recently issued a statement saying that the company will abolish 95 to 96 employees at the Tuscaloosa plant in order to adjust its production and inventory according to the current market demand. A detailed plan for this layoff has not yet been finalized and Michelin stated that it will continue to monitor the tire market and respond accordingly.

The Tuscaloosa plant specializes in the production of BF Goodrich tires, which include tires for passenger cars and trucks . Mark Williams from the United States Steel Workers Union (USW) said that the layoffs were forced by the growing competitiveness of companies such as Hankook and Yokohama tires.

Prior to Belcherchie, he had a factory in Opelika, Alabama. However, due to the declining demand for tires for passenger cars, the factory was forced to close in October 2009.

Aiming to reduce the time to load a roll to the minimum point, this Double Head Decoiler type drives one of the rolls, as the other one waits as a backup.

When the driven roll is over, the backup roll will be ready to be connected to the driver within a very short period of time. When you connect the new roll to the driver, you will have a long time to load another spare roll. Double head Decoiler is an ideal solution for production plants where production speed and continuity are crucial in serial manufacturing. So usually configured with the S loop straightener, high speed gear machine and H Frame High Speed Press Machine, it`s usually suitable for motor rotor and stator lamination stamping.
